Performance Info and Artist Considerations
Floor Shows and Burlesque Brunch:
Only solo acts will be considered for these performances. We are looking for experienced performers to engage patrons in an intimate setting. We request that acts have minimal props and provide canned music sent in Mp3 format. There will be no rehearsal available to performers at the performance location. The backstage area is small and the venue is intimate. Performers will be moving throughout the space. Expect patrons at tables eating and drinking. There will be an MC to provide introduction and crowd animation throughout the event. Tipping will be encouraged and our Yukon audiences come ready 🤑

Friday Happy Hour @ Side Bar – All experience levels will be considered
Sunday Brunch @ Venue TBD – Experienced performers will be considered
Cabin Fever Cabaret:
The Cabaret that started it all for Cabin Fever Burlesque Festival! Cabin Fever Cabaret is a professional variety show showcasing Velvet Antler Productions and our invited headliners. This year we are excited to include 2 performance spots for each night in this main stage event. We would love to have 1 experienced act and 1 novice act each night. Only solo or small group acts will be considered. These spots will be prioritized for BIPOC performers. This showcase has a modest $200 artist/act honorarium. This is a well rehearsed, well lubed glitter machine that leaves our audiences only wanting more! This is a stage show that includes a required dress rehearsal on Thursday afternoon.
Competition:
Solo to large group acts of all experience levels welcome! Performers can provide canned music sent in a Mp3 format or live music (must include your own accompaniment). All performance art styles welcome and encouraged! Held at the Cabin Fever Main stage (sternwheeler conference room), this competition will start at 8pm. Participants will have a backstage area to enter from and stage management to support them. You will have a short amount of time earlier in the day to walk the stage for your act, and meet our production team there to support you. All experience levels welcome and be assured that all will be recognized! Throw in your hat to win our PUSS categories.
Performance Category:
In the performance category, we were looking for the performer’s passion for the art and connection to the audience—something that should shine through in their performance, and the way they own the stage.

For the uniqueness category, we were looking for factors that make the performance unique; a distinctive perspective or delivery, a personalized expression of aesthetic, an unusual move, an unexpected reveal, a wickedly quirky sense of humor, a compelling imagination.

Sass Category:
For the Sass category we were looking at the smoothness of the performance, including their handling of malfunctions or other unpredictable issues. Whether the way the performer removes their costume pieces is well-executed. Whether their performance was done skillfully, inventively, and with exceptional ingenuity, humor, mischief, and/or sensuality

Style Category:
The Style category applies to the performer’s costuming, stage makeup, accessories, hair, props, etc. Considering the attention to detail and general theatricality of the performer’s look. How effective is their styling for their act, whether it’s a dollar store bath towel or an expensive designer costume? They shouldn’t need rhinestones to dazzle!
